3 Different Ways You Can Open Recent Or Existing Projects For Blind Logic Pro Users Using VoiceOver

In Logic Pro there are sometimes many ways to accomplish a task, and this tutorial will cover the various ways one can open an existing project or a recent project. I find in my time doing one on one training that most are aware of only one of these options and depending on what you are doing and which project you are opening, like in the case of a recent project, there may be a faster way than the one you been using. I didn’t cover pressing Command O to bring up the open dialog in Logic as I believe thats the most common, but if you aren’t aware of it, when you have Logic open, you can press Command O to bring up a dialog where you can navigate to and open a project.

The ones I do cover is using the File Menu. This is VO M to get to the menus, then right arrow over to File, then down arrow to Open Recent. Use the right arrow to open the sub menu and down arrow to the project you would like and press return to open it.

Also demonstrated is using Command N, choosing recent from the table and using VO J twice to jump into the section or collection with the recent projects. Navigate to the one you want to open with VO Left/Right and stop interacting with the section or collection and then navigate to the open button at the bottom of the window, and VO Space on it to open the project. You can get there faster with VO End, (VO FN Right arrow on laptop keyboard layouts), and then VO left to the open button if in the current version of Logic 12. Otherwise VO End may take you right to the open button.

The other option discussed is using the Finder to navigate to your logic projects and choose the one you may want to open. This may be more useful for non recent projects. By default Logic Projects are stored in the Logic Folder in the Music Folder in your Home folder. In Finder or on the Desktop, press Command Shift H to get to your Home folder. Then navigate to the Music folder and in there will be the Logic folder.

If you have any follow up questions be sure to leave a comment or hit reply and let me know.
