Agree, The eco system is the selling point and I assume over time more and more features developed in one app will make it's way to another. Case in point Final cut gaining the ability to sync video clips to a beat grid, and I imagine logic in the future wil be able to generate a transcript so you can search and jump to a specific part in the audio file.
Regarding Chord ID, Melodyme has had the ability to determine pitch from polyphonic audio for a while now, and Studio 1 (or now Fender Studio Pro) has had a similar feature for a little bit as well, so it would be say to say polyphonic pitch technology has advanced to where I have high hopes for Chord ID. I am guessing none of them are perfect but so long as the manual correction needed is minimal they will be a great assistance in the production process.
