In Logic Pro 12 Drum Machine designer is no longer a custom track type and now behaves like any other software instrument track. Therefor the feature in Logic Magician where you would press D to hear if the track was a Drum Machine Designer track and double press D to open Drum Machine Designer, no longer works in Logic Pro 12.
In Logic Pro 12 you would treat it like any other Software instrument plug in. On a software instrument track in Logic that has Drum Machine Designer on it, you will press the number 1 to hear the instrument name, then press dash to open the plug in window.
See this tutorial for more on how to use Software Instruments and effects plug ins with Logic Magician. On a software instrument track the number 1 usually will be the instrument if there is no MIDI FX on the track.
Check out this playlist for more on how to use Drum Machine Designer. If you are in Logic Pro 12, just remember you don’t need to use D to pull up Drum Machine Designer anymore.
